Talo Systems is an early-stage therapeutics focused company based in Singapore. Led by a team of experienced drug development and computer scientists, we are a multi-disciplinary team of software developers, artificial intelligence engineers, bioinformaticians, chemists, and more. Together, our team is working to change the way that therapeutics are developed — at all phases of pre-clinical research and development.

 

A successful candidate will have a good understanding of computational chemistry principles and drug discovery, and possess the necessary problem solving and communication skills to collaborate in a multi-discipline team setting. The position requires an individual with a strong work ethic who is highly motivated and excited to work in a collaborative environment.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Use of in silico method to support design of small molecule drugs targeting disease relevant pathways
  • Use of in silico methods to support identification and discovery of disease relevant targets and pathways
  • Responsible for route selection, design, and multi-step synthesis
  • Keep up to date knowledge of relevant literature and technology methodologies
  • Must possess good scientific problem-solving ability

 

Requirements:

  • Degree or Ph.D. in relevant subjects such as Computational Chemistry (preferred) or Organic Chemistry
  • Demonstrated record of productivity in Medicinal or synthetic chemistry and Molecular Dynamics Simulation research as evidenced by publications and/or patents
  • Medicinal Chemistry knowledge and experience – 3 years minimum
  • Knowledge and prior experience in structure-based and ligand-based drug design, HTVS and quantum-mechanical calculations
  • Proficient in related softwares such as: Gaussian, AutoDock, Maestro Schrodinger, Assisted Model Building with Energy Refinement, and Visual Molecular Dynamics
  • Proficient in programming languages such as: R, Python, Bash and Fortran
  • Excellent scientific problem-solving skills with the ability to perform research independently
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills (both written and verbal)
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team
